On September 9, 2016, twenty equine experts and enthusiasts met to discuss the potential for developing the equine industry in Eastern Kentucky. Representatives attended from local and state government, academia, horse support organizations, local horse owners, Extension service, and the Appalachian Horse Center.
The Appalachian Horse Center considers it part of their mission to develop not only the Free-roaming horse center, but also to guide and assist with the growth of the equine industry in the region. This development promises jobs and business opportunities.
Below are the results of the September, 2016 planning session.
